“High Mountain Heroes believes that if we can help just one Veteran experience some of the enjoyment that may have been lost due to their commitment and sacrifice to our Great Nation, our mission will have been completed.”

About Us

The Vets we are supporting are surrounded by those who have had similar experiences, creating a more comfortable atmosphere.

At High Mountain Heroes we believe that what’s good for the soul is good for the mind and body, and we feel that nature can be incredibly therapeutic for the soul. While Department of Veteran Affairs provides basic health and mental care services for returning Warriors, we strive to augment this by stepping in where those services leave off. By providing Team based recreational missions in the great outdoors, we strive to mend some of the emotional scars and trauma of having served in combat. Our programs and adventures connect Veterans with other like-minded Brothers and Sisters in a setting that allows for real bonding and healing.

Many of today’s veterans have come back from intense deployments with physical and emotional scars that can’t always be helped with medication or long and exhausting therapy sessions. Many Veterans do not have the physical ability and/or resources to do things that truly bring them enjoyment; things that they may have done prior to the Military, or perhaps they have yet to discover the therapeutic properties of the Rivers, Mountains and Sea. This is where High Mountain Heroes steps in to fill that gap. Think of us as an MWR (a military term for: morale, welfare and recreation) for disabled Veterans.

High Mountain Heroes sets up 100% funded outdoor experiences ranging from camping, deep sea fishing, waterfowl hunting, big game hunting, 4-wheel drive excursions, snowboarding, etc. The list goes on and the possibilities are endless. We supply the transportation, food, equipment, fees and expertise to fully engage in these activities at zero cost. All our time is donated and not one person draws any type of salary!

HMH believes that if we can help just one Veteran experience some of the enjoyment that may have been lost due to their commitment and sacrifice to our Great Nation, and at the same time provide a sense of self sufficiency and mental well-being, our mission will have been completed.
